Seoul Democracy Forum(SDF)

The Seoul Democracy Forum(SDF) was designed to have global experts, who are working hard for the development of democracy in different fields, and to share their experiences and vision with participants from Korea. As a biennale, the purpose of the forum is to engage in in-depth discussion on responsible democracy, which involves making a connection between economic, environment, and development cooperation and democracy for sustainable lives. The forum sessions addressed issues that threaten people's dreams of living in peace and harmony in connection with democracy: the effects of the financial crisis that is spreading all across the globe; uncontrollable global warming and increased speed in the destruction of life forms; and gloomy forecasts on the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals(MDGs).

We hope that the SDF serves as an opportunity to recognize democracy as a solution for resolving the various types of crises that people are confronted with in this era, and to realize the need for all of us to engage in communication and take action with a sense of responsibility.
