The Assembly for Democracy in Asia (ADA) is an assembly of democrats, including activists, practitioners, academics, policy makers and funders, who have come together to cooperate in the promotion of democracy.
As the first Assembly for Democracy in Asia ever held, it will focus on 1) the correlation between democracy and development, 2) the co-existence of different forms of democracies in Great Asia region, and 3) the ideal practice of implementing democracy through diversities.
The primary outcome of the 2011 ADA will be a Framework for Action that explores the relationship between economic development and democratization, as well as strengthens global democracy. Other major highlights include keynote speeches prominent scholars and political figures who have made major contributions to the cause of democratization in our region about the current progress and challenges of democracy in Asia.
